Ingham Region Catholic Parish

The Catholic Parish of St Patrick, St Peter, and St Teresa of the Ingham Region is the new parish, established on 1 January 2023, from the merger of the former separate parishes of Ingham, Halifax and Abergowrie. It’s territorial boundaries coincide with the civil boundaries of Hinchinbrook Shire.

For well over one hundred years, the Catholic Parish/es of this district have faithfully sought to offer God fitting worship and praise and to be of service to the wider community. The parish has three schools Gilroy Santa Maria College, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, and St Peter’s Catholic School. Within the boundaries is also the Diocesan school of St Teresa’s College Abergowrie and Mary McKillop Early Learning North Queensland daycare and outside of school hours care. There is also a Catholic nursing home, now Ozcare Canossa.
